Miss Gina- Tap Syllabus, Troupes and Private Lessons

Gina was born and raised in Newcastle NSW. She started dancing at age 6. Although ballet classes with Tessa Maunder were her first taste of dancing, she quickly discovered Tap Dancing was her true love and at age 8 commenced lessons with Newcastle tap legend, Les Griffith. She had the pleasure of being 1 of his students whilst he created the highly regarded L.G.T.D.A Tap Syllabus and has continued on not only teaching this syllabus but is now an examiner of it as well. She has also adjudicated both in Australia and New Zealand.

Gina believes a versatile dancer and performer branches out into all genres of the performing arts. Although Tap was her passion as a child, she continued on with her ballet classes as well as jazz, national character, physical culture, singing, drama and gymnastics.

After a short break from teaching to start up a business with her husband, she is so excited to be back into it and sharing her love of Tap with our BDC students.

Mrs Denz- Acrobatics

Dana was born in Melbourne and moved to Newcastle at the age of 4. She was constantly climbing trees and walls and so her mother put her into gymnastics when she was 5 years old at the PCYC in Windale. Displaying a true passion for the sport!

When Dana was 12, she started at the Lakeside Gymnastics Academy in Gateshead. Competing in all levels 1 to 10. Dana held both the titles of Country Champion and State champion multiple times for different levels and even went to Nationals twice. Her highest achievement was becoming the National champion on the beam and 7th overall in Australia in level 8 when she was 16 years old.

Dana has a degree in Primary Teaching from University of Newcastle. 17 years experience.

Dana is passionate about teaching children and truly loves to help all her students achieve their goals, whether it be academic, personal or physical. Dana has transferred her knowledge and understanding of gymnastics over to acrobatics and has been the Acro teacher at Belmont Dance Centre for the past two years.
