Our Mummy & Me dance classes are perfect for all parents – just ask Nathan Ross

If you’ve got a little dancer on your hands, but they’re a tiny bit too young for classes, why not try Mummy and Me dance classes?

They’re perfect for kids who may be a little nervous about starting dance or are ready to groove – but are a little young! While the classes are called ‘Mummy’ and Me, we often have dads coming in to work on their plies and pirouettes with their kids.

One parent who loves attending our Mummy and Me classes is Nathan Ross, former Newcastle Knights player.

Nathan & Willow Ross

Nathan attends classes with his three-year-old daughter, Willow, once a week at Belmont Dance Centre. Willow has been dancing with us for almost two years, but her favourite dance class is Mummy and Me where she gets to dance with her dad.

Nathan never expected to find himself in classes at Belmont Dance Centre but has loves spending the time with his daughter.

“It’s such an awesome, nurturing environment at the studio and Miss Trudy is such a caring teacher,”

said Nathan.

Mummy and Me Classes

Our Mummy and Me classes are the perfect introduction to dance for young children. We welcome kids of all abilities and genders who are aged two to three.

Having a parent in the class completing the steps helps the students grow confidence and ease them into dance classes. Being in the class with your child also helps foster a special relationship between you and your child. Nathan said he was surprised by how much he enjoys the classes and loves seeing his daughter have fun.

“The classes are a lot of fun and my dance technique is flawless thanks to Miss Trudy!”

Why they chose Belmont Dance Centre

After researching and asking several friends, Nathan said our studio was the obvious choice to enrol Willow in.

“Every parent we asked said Trudy was an amazing teacher, and the studio was like a family and we really wanted that for Willow,” said Nathan.

“And they’re right – Miss Trudy is so patient and kind with all of the kids. It’s such a great way to introduce them to a nurturing environment outside of home.”
